The Golden Girls Take Manhattan DX

There is no way to properly introduce this project. This is a project spearheaded by my close programmer colleague Christopher Lindgren, of which he has so kindly allowed me to assist as a Technical Director.

What started as a joke has quickly spiraled into a playground of ideas meant to explore just how much we can push our skills and retain our sanity with our own brand of humor. Simply put, this is Persona 5’s gameplay replaced with the context of The Golden Girls.

As a technical artist, I work with the lead programmer/creator with implementation of assets as well as organizational structures to make sure both the assets I create, the assets we download from licensed storefronts, and the assets given to us by additional artists interested in our project all run efficiently in Unity.

I am directly responsible for lighting, animation/rigging, shaders, and asset implementation, as well as assisting where appropriate with game design and testing. I also am currently working on new models/rigs for the main characters while I work with 2D artists to provide a variety of characters and jokes to import as enemies and portraits within the game.

I am also project manager, and have implemented a Kanban work structure to gauge asset development from programming, to 2D/3D art, to even narrative and design components using Clickup.

Despite the ridiculous nature of the project itself, overtime more artists and designers have volunteered to lend their talents to the project. This means strict organization is necessary in order to balance two critical things: a variety of content and styles, as well as the nature of a free project meaning we have to be surgical in our approach to maintain work output.
